Silence presided over the five supers. One, slumped over a set of narrow shoulders, due to circumstances - the remaining four due to conflict. They got scared, they got compromised for the first time in a public setting.

Each step she took was like journeying deeper into a mysterious land - as if it were a land she had always dreamed of and was simply awestruck by its marvel. Her eyes, glistening and mirroring her concealed elation, traced the doorways she passed by; each door was closed, but held its own, unique secret behind it. This was the grunt that suddenly emanated from an alleyway. A figure clad in extremely formal attire - a tuxedo, it appeared to be - had slammed into a brick wall. One would have suspected that he - as it had been a male's voice indeed - would have been struck from the street by a behemoth of a vehicle, but this was not so: there was no roaring from the pulsating automobiles, none in sight. Shuffling out into the corridor, a few of the Juniors were last, due to their relative distance from the doors and last-second purchases from the vending machines. Out came the familiar faces of Kenny, Alex Venda, and Darin who were headed to one of their favorite classes for the day – Algebra Class. As they walked past the trophy case – the display of all of Oracle Prep’s success in competitions, validated by the sheer evidence of five and full shelves of gold and silver – they absentmindedly glanced over to the doorway, watching a car or two fly by. The room was filled with the drone of clamoring voices. There were about twelve or so round tables within the quarters. There were seats surrounding these tables and in these seats were people. Children, in fact: adolescents ranging from the age of thirteen to about eighteen. The heads of shaggy, neat, prim, shiny, dark, unkempt, and short hair all bobbed in distinctive motions. Laughter, emphasizing points, or moving to the beat of the music blaring in their ear buds – the boys of Oracle Prep were enjoying their ritual of lunch.
